This is the unique timepiece Van designed himself because of a need for a calendar or clock with a large, easy to read display of the name of the day. It is radio controlled, which means it is frequently synchronized, including in and out of daylight savings time, by a radio signal from the National Institute of Standards and Technology in Fort Collins Colorado.
