1. You state that the
DayTellerTM is a Radio-controlled Clock. What is a
Radio-controlled Clock?
The National Institute of
Standard and Technology (NIST) in Fort Collins, Colorado
broadcasts the time signal (WWVB at 60kHz AM radio signal)
with an accuracy of 1 second per every 3,000 years. The
signal will cover over a distance up to 2,000 miles from the
source. Like a typical AM radio, your RCC will not be able
to receive the WWVB signal in places surrounded by heavy
concrete or metal panels. The reception of the time signal
is also greatly affected by electrical or electronic
interference. To get the best performance of the RCC clock,
please install the clock nearer to a window and change
directions if one direction does not work. Refer to Question
#2 below, to ensure the correct installation and the best
reception.
2. How do I set the
time on my DayTellerTM?
- After power up, the
display will show all segments 3 seconds with one
beeping. Then display 12:00pm Jan 1, 2000. The Time Zone
is defaulted at PST – Pacific Standard
Time
- Select the correct
Time Zone. Press TIME ZONE key to select Pacific Time
(P), Mountain Time (M), Central Time (C ), Eastern Time
(E)
- Once a Time Zone is
selected, your RCC will start to receive the
signal.
- While the DayTellerTM
is seeking the signal, the icon will change gradually
indicating the seek condition.
- If valid signal is
available, the DayTellerTM will decode the Local Time in
about 3-5 minutes. The FULL tower icon and "OK" will
appear on the display.
- If the first reception
is not successful, the DayTellerTM will attempt EVERY
hour until the time is decoded.
- If a signal is not
available when setting up, enter the present time and
calendar by hold SET buttons 3 seconds and press (+) or
(-) to enter the existing timing.

- Press to select the
current Time Zone:
- P = Pacific

- Hold TIME ZONE
button 3 sec to trigger Daylght Saving Time on and
off. Your clock is preset to DST ON. Leave the setting
to ON if you want to receive the Daylight Saving Time
in summer.
- *In parts of
Arizona and Indiana where Daylight Saving Time is not
applicable, set to DST off (DST icon will appear on
display when DST is received)
- ( + ) SEEK TIME
- During CLOCK
setting, press (+) button for 1 step advance, hold (+)
for 10 step/sec fast advance. At normal mode, HOLD 3
seconds to get a Manual Synchronization of Atomic time
signal
- ( - ) SEEK TIME
- During CLOCK
settings, press ( - ) for 1 step backward, hold for 10
step/sec fast backward. At normal mode, HOLD –
key 3 seconds to select C and F
